Kyogen designs the official merchandise of NOHGA HOTEL AKIHABARA, which opened on September 1, 2020.

Kyogen designed the card key for NOHGA HOTEL AKIHABARA, which opened on September 1. Kyogen creates designs based onkamon(family crests) by combining Edo period craftsmanship with digital technology.

NOHGA HOTEL AKIHABARA is an atmospheric hotel centered on music, art, and food, where guests can experience the city’s essence. Its card key was created by Shoryu Hatoba as a piece of art using the Mon-Mandala*. It was made with headphones and speakers as its motif, turning it into a sophisticated card key representing one of the hotel’s core concepts, music. Its design was drawn using only circles, matching the rooms’ warmth and simplicity and symbolizing the top-class hotel experience.

NOHGA HOTEL AKIHABARA’s hairdryer bags were also made with Mon-Mandala®. These were one of Kyogen’s many designs for the NOHGA HOTEL UENO back in 2017. This beautiful addition brings color to amenities that are commonly inorganic. This dryer bag has earned the praise of countless guests, turning it into best-selling hotel merchandise. Shoryu Hatoba poured his skills as a craftsman who draws crests for kimonos into this elegant design, which blends into the hotel and gives its guests a warm welcome.

*A newkamonexpression devised by Shoryu Hatoba, where the line which extends the pattern but is not actually drawn, is visualized using Illustrator (an image editing software).
