LIFEOn sale from November 6th, 2021 in limited quantities.
The timepiece brand Seiko is well known for its various collaborative models that have worked with the worlds of anime, games, fashion, or sport.
On November 6th, 2021, the luxury watch brand Credor will release limited-quantity models whose dials feature Mokume Gane, a metal craft technique that has been handed down since the Edo period. Similarly to the highly acclaimed first collaborative model released in 2019, these second limited-quantity models were created under the direction of Masaki Takahashi, representative director of Mokumeganeya Co., Ltd.
Mokume Gane is a processing technology unique to Japan that was devised for sword accoutrements 400 years ago during the Edo period. In the Mokume Gane technique, several differently colored metals are layered on top of one another, subject to shaving and twisting, then stretched flat to produce a wood-grain pattern. The design of both the men’s and ladies’ models takes the Japanese auspicious cloud motif known as zuiun as its theme. Since ancient times, zuiun auspicious clouds have been said to express lucky omens. Working by hand, piece by piece, outstandingly skilled craftsmen create the dials of these watches, which make a perfect gift for wedding anniversaries or other life milestone events. We welcome you to take a close look at these masterpieces made with highly reliable Japanese movements and a beautiful dial that is the concentration of fine craftsmanship.
