[Seiko Watches] Seiko Launches New Presage Series Timepiece in Collaboration with Porter Classic

An exclusive collaboration between two of Japan’s most iconic brands members of the Edo Tokyo Kirari Project, Seiko Watch and Porter Classic, is set for release on November 9, 2024, limited to just 500 pieces worldwide.

Seiko Presage, a brand that showcases Japanese craftsmanship and traditional techniques through its intricate mechanical watches, has teamed up with Porter Classic, a fashion brand known for its commitment to creating timeless, generation-spanning items. The collaboration focuses on their shared theme of “classic,” with the design drawing inspiration from Japan’s first wristwatch, the Laurel, which debuted in 1913 at a time when pocket watches were still the norm, and faithfully reproducing the original Arabic numerals from the original design on the dial.

The dial itself is made of black enamel, overseen by master craftsman Mitsuru Yokosawa. This exclusive item’s design, and homage to the original Laurel, is imbued with chairman of Porter Classic Katsuyuki Yoshida’s passion for pocket watches and legendary timepieces.

The black strap, made of sleek cordovan leather, also comes with a spare in brown. With a unisex slim width, it features more holes than usual to allow for easy adjustment.

The watch and straps are packaged in a traditional kiribako wooden box, inspired by Japan’s cultural concept of kasane (layering) and reflecting the companies’ dedication to quality. Of the 500 pieces available worldwide, only 250 will be sold in Japan. This highly sought-after timepiece, perfect for both mechanical watch enthusiasts and collectors, will be available at Seiko flagship salons, SEIKO DREAM SQUARE, Seiko boutiques, Seiko watch salons, all Porter Classic stores, and Porter Classic’s online store.
