[Seiko] Tonneau-Shaped Dress Watch Joins the Seiko Presage Enamel-Dial Series

Seiko’s mechanical watch collection Seiko Presage communicates Japanese aesthetics to the world and continues to create exceptional “Made in Japan” timepieces by reflecting the outstanding skills and dedication of master artisans from Japan’s traditional crafts. On February 6, 2026, the enamel-dial series welcomed its first regular model featuring a tonneau-shaped case.

The tonneau shape—named after the French word for “barrel”—lends the watch a classical and elegant impression, further enhanced by a dial design crafted with meticulous attention to detail. The Roman numeral indexes are an homage to Seiko’s first pocket watch, the Timekeeper, introduced in 1895, and are specially designed to complement the barrel form. The sub-dial for the 24-hour indicator highlights the lustrous, dimensional quality unique to enamel, while the railway-style minute track around the outer edge of the dial accentuates its classical character. In addition, the tips of the minute and second hands are gently curved toward the dial to reduce the distance from the markings, enhancing legibility.

Seiko Presage Classic Series “Craftsmanship” Enamel Dial. Caliber 6R5H; automatic with manual winding; stainless steel case with super-hard coating*; case size 46.0 mm (length) × 35.9 mm (width), thickness 12.5 mm; approx. 72-hour power reserve. (231,000 yen) *Super-hard coating (DiaShield): a proprietary surface-hardening technology developed by Seiko to protect the watch’s original beauty and fine finish from everyday scratches and minor abrasions.

The enamel dial, characterized by its warm white tone and fresh, glossy sheen, is fired through an artisanal process that demands advanced skill, such as adjusting the glaze composition according to temperature and humidity and maintaining an even, uniform spray application. Produced under the supervision of master enamel artisan Mitsuru Yokosawa, the dial was crafted with the involvement of Kazunori Uchiyama, who refined his skills under Yokosawa’s guidance. Together they have created a truly beautiful timepiece that weaves centuries-old Japanese craft into the future of watchmaking and invites you to experience its presence firsthand.
