Nihonbashi Chikusen was established in year 13 of the Tempo era (1842), and boasts a history spanning 180 years.
Chikusen has become widely synonymous with yukata, and has been loved by many cultural figures and celebrities.

“CHIKUSEN dress” was born as part of the Edo Tokyo Kirari Project to propose a new ethical and happy lifestyle while utilizing our know-how in tailoring yukata that we have gained over the years.

The dresses made of yukata fabric not only have an elegant and refreshing look, but also have a light and smooth texture. The original textiles, which have been handed down from generation to generation, have been carefully spun by skilled katabori (molding) craftsmen and dyeing artisans, and their skills are reflected in every little detail.
They are named Jeanne, Gina, Monica, and so on, all of which evoke the image of actresses of yesteryear wearing exquisite fabrics created by beautiful handwork.
