[Isehan Honten] Beni Museum “Chisai, Chikkoi, Chiccha!” Information on the Event. October 18, 2022 (Tue) – December 11, 2022 (Sun)
2022.10.17
FASHIONThe Beni Museum, located on Kotto-Dori in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo, is a museum dedicated to the history and culture of Beni and makeup by the last Beni shop, Isehan Honten. Regularly held special exhibitions are also popular, and from October 18 (Tue) to December 11 (Sun), 2022, the special exhibition “Chisai, Chikkoi, Chiccha!” will be held.
The exhibition focuses on playhouse tools and miniature kitchen utensils produced from the Edo period to the Showa period, and explores their uses, and the preferences of both children and adults. Miniatures speak eloquently of the user, the owner, and sometimes the maker. They are also materials that convey today the views and times once seen by those who held them in their hands. Take a look at the times and the interests captured by these small objects.
