[Ryukobo] For a stylish, comfortable mask-wearing lifestyle: a “braided mask cord” using traditional braided cords
By applying Japan-made braided cords, this fine item made with fastidious attention to texture, design, and purpose was born.
Ryukobo, akumihimo(braided cord that was introduced to Japan during theAsukaperiod and is said to have developed in theEdoperiod as an auspicious item.)maker with 132 years’ history, combined traditional artisan techniques with a hybrid antibacterial-silk fiber in creating its new product, the “Kumihimo mask cord.”
The kumihimo mask cord uses 100% domestically produced silk and antibacterial threads produced by Mr. Takimoto, a young silkworm farmer in Ehime Prefecture. The threads are woven infuji-yotsugumi, a braiding method passed down from the Nara period which is modeled afterfuji, or wisteria flowers. Thefuji-yotsugumiwas chosen for its advantages of having excellent elasticity and a pleasant texture.

With the mask cord, unhook the mask from your ears and the mask will rest at your chest. You won’t need to worry about where to put your mask, leading to a comfortable mask-wearing lifestyle. You can also add the auxiliary parts to use it as a glasses or sunglasses chain, which would be of immediate use in the glaring summer rays or at your next destination. *This is a pre-sale crowdfunding campaign, with a planned run until July 19, 2021.
