[Nihonbashi Sembikiya-Sohonten]Now in Season! “Shine Muscat” Dish Arrives Taste Edo Tokyo’s Summer Delicacy

Sembikiya-Sohonten, a participant of the Edo Tokyo Kirari project, first appeared in Fukiya-cho of Edo (now Nihonbashi Ningyocho 3-chome) as a store selling fruits and vegetables. Today, the Nihonbashi Sembikiya Main Store is beloved throughout generations with Sembikiya’s specialty fruit-based menus including their traditional “Fruits Sandwich”.The main store and cafe are located on the first floor, and the Fruit Parlor and Wine & Dining De’Meter are on the second floor.

Now, the Fruit Parlor is offering “Shine Muscat” as their seasonal menu on the 2nd floor of the Nihonbashi Main Store. The “Okayama Prefecture’s Shine Muscat Parfait” is packed with “Shine Muscat”, popular for its crispy peel, elegant aroma and juice that overflows from within. The parfait is also served with lime jelly, sorbet, and yogurt ice cream to compliment the sweetness of the fruit. With the Muscat jelly and sorbet enhancing the fragrant aroma and flavor, this is one tasty and refreshing summer dessert.

While the “Shine Muscat” is also available for purchase at the main store on the first floor, the visually refreshing “Shine Muscat Parfait,” also known as the “green jewel,” is a luxurious flavor that can only be enjoyed at the Fruit Parlor for a limited time.
