LIFEThe “Edo Tokyo Kirari Project” has been dedicated to refining the traditional Japanese craftsmanship honed since the Edo period, and time-honored products from long-established makers from a fresh perspective. By promoting their value and charm as a brand representing Tokyo both domestically and internationally, we have been committed to passing down these traditional techniques to the next generation.
As part of this initiative, we are pleased to announce the exhibition titled “Naniga Umareru? Ten: Japanese Craftsmanship Exhibition,” which showcases the craftsmanship of artisans. The show will be held from March 6 to 8, 2026, at Omotesando Hills, Main Building B3F, Space O.
【Statement】
Something only humans can create.
Is there such a thing?
Despite grappling with this mental disquiet,
artisans continue to hone their skills.
They never cave in,
and in the pursuit of creating quality work,
AI is just another tool of the craft.
After all, preserving tradition doesn’t mean stopping time,
because it means evolving with the times.
For over a century, transcending completion,
gems of these skills have been polished.
They are the centerpieces of Tokyo’s treasure,
and we want you to find them.
Something that only humans can create.
We know you’ll surely love them.
【Workshop and Demonstration】
In addition to the exhibits, we will feature demonstration booths where you can see artisans’ skills up close, as well as workshops where visitors can experience their traditional techniques firsthand.
