[Kyogen] Talk Event to Commemorate the 1st Anniversary of the Publication ofMon no Jiten– December 4, 2021

Kyogen’sMon no Jiten(Crest Dictionary), released at the end of last year and introduced by Edo Tokyo Kirari, is a book describing the composition and structure ofmoncrests, together with images of the original “MON-MANDALA®” technique of Shoryu Hatoba. It is written by Shoryu Hatoba and Yohji Hatoba, inheritors ofmonsho-uwaeshitechniques for hand-paintingmonon kimono.

On December 4, amoncreation workshop will be held with a talk by Shoryu Hatoba and Yohji Hatoba to commemorate the first anniversary of the dictionary’s release.Monmade usingwashi(Japanese paper) origami can be used to adorn greeting cards or enjoyed in many other ways. We invite you to take part in thismoncreation experience, which has been introduced on TV and is fun for children and adults alike.

Venue: International Design Liaison Center (inside Tokyo Midtown Design Hub)

Capacity: 30 people each session
Target audience: Elementary school students and older. (Cutters will be used.) Children from lower elementary school grades are asked to take part with a guardian.
Items to bring: Cutter, scissors. (These will be available for lending as needed.)
Participation fee: 1,500 yen per person (includes 1 Mon Creation Kit); or [Limited event Special Set] Workshop participation + 1 autographedMon no Jiten: 3,500 yen total
